Greetings NEBLSA Family!

It is both an honor and a privilege to be greeting you all, and I send you my warmest regards from New York. I humbly present myself to you as the 2014-2015 Northeast Regional Chair and am excited to serve you all this year. Being a part of the Executive Regional Board since 2013, I have experienced first hand the academic and professional development, as well as the networking and support that NEBLSA fosters. As we head into a new year, I hope that the programs that this year’s Executive Board bring you enrich your law school experience.

As the Region that started this amazing organization, NEBLSA remains the pillar of the organization. In keeping with the work that NEBLSA has done with and for the organization, this year’s theme is, “Road to 50: Fortifying the Road to Excellence.”

This theme embodies our goal of honoring the work of those who have come before us and renewing a commitment to increasing the diversity in the legal profession.

NBLSA was founded in the Northeast region in 1968 at New York University School of Law. Forty-five years later, NEBLSA supports 33 chapters and more than 1,100 members. Former NEBLSA members include countless esteemed attorneys, successful executives, general counsels, judges, senators, congressmen, Supreme Court Justices, attorney generals, and a United States President and First Lady.

This year, our programming and events will start in the Summer and continue through the Spring of next year. These programs will include opportunities to increase academic skills, professional development, and networking skills. We will begin our summer with the Summer Professional Development Series, which will take us into August for our NEBLSA Job Fair and Leadership Retreat at New York Law School, on August 8-9, 2014. In the fall we will continue our programming through academic retreats, community service events, advocacy events, alumni receptions and many sub-regional specific programs. All of this will culminate with our 47th Annual Regional Convention in Mystic, CT from January 28 to February 1, 2015.

For updates regarding our region, programming, and events, visit www.nblsa.org/neblsa. On our website you will find important information such as a link to our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages, as well which will contain additional NEBLSA-related information, event specific information, and contact information for the entire NEBLSA Executive Board. Please be sure to check our website throughout the year to stay informed. If at any point you have suggestions, questions, and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

In NEBLSA love,
