Lotoya Brown serves as the 2016-2017 Director of Public Relations for the National Black Law Students Association (“NBLSA”). In this role, she develops and executes, with the approval of the National Chair, NBLSA’s public relations strategy and expands NBLSA’s presence via the website, social media, and other media outlets.

Mrs. Brown is a native of Queens, NY but grew up in South Florida. She graduated from Florida State University, in Tallahassee, Florida, where she earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Marketing. While at Florida State, Mrs. Brown served as a member of the Black Student Union, Economic Empowerment Chair for the F.S.U. Chapter of N.A.A.C.P, and a member of the Black Actors Guild. Upon graduation, Ms. Brown received her Masters Degree in Education. She served for seven years within Broward County School District in both classroom instruction and instructional coaching.

She is currently a 4L evening-student at Shepard Broad College of Law, Nova Southeastern University. On campus community, she has been elected to serve on the 2016-2017 Executive Board for the Nova chapter of the Black Law Students Association and PULSE! Health Law Society. Additionally, she is a member of Nova Moot Court, Caribbean Law Association, Phi Alpha Delta, Law School Ambassador, and a Deans List Scholar. She is also holds student membership with the National Bar Association and the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association.

Mrs. Brown is married to Andell Brown, Esq. and they are the proud parents of one daughter. Mrs. Brown enjoys spending time with her family, singing in the shower, listening to jazz music, watching Korean and Bollywood dramas, and reading. Mrs. Brown is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Most importantly, Mrs. Brown credits everything to God Almighty. Her favorite quote is Psalms 37:4 “Delight thyself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Mrs. Brown looks forward to serving NBLSA for the 2016-2017 academic year.
